Too Faced Natural Love| First Impressions

I really debated buying this after listening to all the mixed reviews about it. Die hard Too Faced fans seemed to hate it whilst others liked it. It was a real mixed bag. However, I do believe in making up your own opinion and entered swatch heaven. I tested a few of the mattes and shimmers before deciding to buy it.

The Natural Love Palette is enormous. For £59 you get 30 eyeshadows. There is a mixture of mattes, satins and shimmers. They all look gorgeous. The packaging, of course is quirky and beautiful. I love the Spring garden effect on the front of the box. It’s really different. And I actually don’t mind that it’s cardboard; it’s a really thin palette which makes it ideal for travelling.

This is a neutral palette with the odd pop of colour (mainly pink and purple) so it is ideal for everyday wear, although there are deeper shades to create some intense evening looks too. Since there is such a variety in the shadows and the quality is a little hit and miss on some shadows, I wanted to give my initial thoughts on each shadow. I promise that I’ll be brief.

Heaven, Fairy Tale, Nudie, Tickle Me, Don’t Settle, Fingers Crossed

Heaven: Matte White. This is a beautiful eye setting powder. I tend to apply this all over my lid before applying my crease shades. It provides a nice base for the other colours.

Fairy Tale: Champagne Glitter. I actually don’t like this one. The glitter is very chunky and falls all over the place when you try to apply it. It does ok if spritz my brush first, but you can’t wear this dry.

Nudie: Matte Fawn Brown. This is a gorgeous silky smooth transition shade. One of my favourites. Since going blonde, I actually use this to fill in my brows.

Tickle Me: Light Champagne Shimmer. This is such a pretty shade. It is ideal for brow highlighting or highlighting the inner corner.

Don’t Settle: Taupe shimmer. This is a really pretty shade that blends out really well.

Fingers Crossed: Brown with hints of glitter. This is gorgeous across the lid or to smoke out in the crease for a pretty evening look.

Lace Teddy, Satin Sheets, Push-Up, Honey Pot, Chocolate Martini, Undercover

Lace Teddy: Matte Fleshy Pink. This is a gorgeous transition shade. It blends like a dream.

Satin Sheets: Champagne shimmer. This is gorgeous! I love using this in the inner part of my high, and I used this as my cheek highlight the other day. It is such a lovely shade to work with.

Push-Up: Pale copper shimmer. This is a lovely all over the lid colour. It blends like a dream.

Honey Pot: Gold. This is my favourite all over the lid shimmer for an everyday makeup look. It’s very subtle but still packs enough of a punch to stand out.

Chocolate Martini: Satin finish brown. This is a really pretty crease shade and outer corner smoky colour. It’s stunning!

Undercover: Plum matte with bits of glitter. This is one of my favourite shades. The glitter really makes this shade stand out. It looks amazing all over the lid or mixed with the purple shades.

Pink Cheeks, Kittens, Bunny Nose, Moonbeam, Love Bug, Smokin’

Pink Cheeks: Baby pink shimmer. This is a blinding highlight shade! It looks lovely on the brow bone or as an inner corner highlighter.

Kittens: Pale lilac and gold shimmer. This is slightly holographic. It does seem to change colours in the light. This would look amazing as a halo eye shade by placing this in the centre of the lid with a matte purple surrounding it.

Bunny Nose: Pink shimmer. I haven’t used this one yet. But the swatches look beautiful and this blended out really well.

Moonbeam: Silver shimmer. This is such a cute shimmery shade. This is another one that I haven’t used, but I think it would go really well with Don’t Settle.

Love Bug: Deep lilac shimmer. This shade is so beautiful. I have been wearing this all over my lid or smoked out along my lower lash line. I absolutely adore it.

Smokin’: Dark silver glitter. This isn’t as chunky as the other glitter and blends out really well. I apply this with my finger over the cooler tones to intensify them slightly.

Poodle, Cutie Patootie, Dear Diary, Coffee Date, Spoiled, Night Fever

Poodle: White shimmer. This looks so beautiful as an inner corner highlight. It looks so soft but it can be built up easily.

Cutie Patootie: Pink champagne shimmer. This is such a soft all over the lid shade. I tend to wear this on low maintenance makeup days. It adds a subtle pop of something to the eyelids.

Dear Diary: Dirty gold shimmer. I love this shade. It’s just that touch more intense than Honey Pot but just as beautiful.

Coffee Date: Matte dark brown. This isn’t as good as the other mattes. This blends out into nothing. It could do with a bit more reformulating to be as intense a the other mattes.

Spoiled: Dark shimmer brown. This looks amazing when used to smoke out the upper lash line.

Night Fever: Dark glittery brown. This is beautiful to smoke out the outer eye. It’s very intense and richly pigmented. I love it.

Spotlight, Honey Butter, Honeymoon, Hot & Bothered, Makeup & Chill, Stilleto

Spotlight: Matte yellow. This is a gorgeous warm transition shade. I don’t have any shades like this so this is a welcome edition to the collection.

Honey Butter: Matte darker fawn brown. Yet another transition shade. This does have more warmth to it, so it’s great to use along the lower lash line.

Honeymoon: Duo-chrome coral. This is gorgeous. I haven’t used it properly yet but I can imagine it looking amazing along the upper lid. It’s stunning!

Hot & Bothered: Copper shimmer. This is by far the best shade in the palette. It is stunning. I am really looking forward to reaching for this in the Autumn.

Makeup & Chill: Matte brown. Was this in the Nikkie palette? All the same it’s a beautiful crease shade and a lovely one to smoke out eyeshadow. I love this colour a lot.

Stilleto: Matte black. I am so pleased that there is a matte black here. Most palettes miss this out. But it’s inclusion means that you could get away with just taking this on holiday. It is all that you will need.

Overall this is a gorgeous palette. Not every shade is brilliant, but there are plenty of amazing shades to make up for the duds.

Have you tried this palette yet? What were your thoughts?

Have a lovely day!
