Hi guys! How are you all today?
Today I wanted to share some of my favourite foundations from 2017. I loved all of these for different reasons and they all have different price ranges and finishes. They all look amazing though.
Dior Forever Foundation
My bottle is now empty. I used this so much over 2017; it looked so flawless and beautiful on the skin. On drab, dull skin days this could make me look and feel radiant. It had a semi-matte finish and had such amazing longevity. Although this wasn’t a cheap foundation, this was worth every penny, and I will repurchase this again one day.
Kat Von D Lock-it Foundation
This has got to be the highest coverage foundation that I have tried over the past year. However, with this being said, it never looks cakey or thick on the skin. It still somehow looked like skin, but covered imperfections so well. The longevity of this was fantastic and even though it is a true matte finish, it didn’t cling to dry patches and enhance them at all, which tends to be the case with similar formulas. This has been one of my favourite foundations over the Winter months.
No7 Lift and Luminate
I purchased this after watching Kathleen Lights and Jessica Braun both raving about it earlier in the year. This is a gorgeous dewy finish foundation, with a glowy finish. It does not sit in fine lines or wear out in weird places. This is a lovely one to wear for work if you do work in places with air conditioning; the extra moisture in the foundation will keep your skin well-nourished. If you are feeling the pinch after Christmas, this is a really affordable option if you still like a luxurious feeling foundation.
Bare Minerals Bare Pro Liquid
This is an absolutely stunning matte foundation. This does add a subtle glow to the skin, unlike the Kat Von D foundation. It blends really well into the skin and is quite nourishing for a matte formula. This is one of the longest lasting formulas on my skin, so if I do have a busy day where I need my makeup to last, I have always reached for this. It is beautiful. I tend to use the brush designed for the Ready Foundation; I find that this gives it the most natural, yet airbrushed finish.
Urban Decay Naked Skin
I loved this in 2016 too. It is a more natural finish foundation and does add a lot of glow to the skin. This tends to be my Summer foundation, since it adds coverage but won’t look thick on the skin. It looks so beautiful, even though it doesn’t cover redness that well; this tends to be my low maintenance days foundation, when I am just hanging around the house or doing errands. It is also a good mixer if I want some of my heavier coverage foundations to look a touch more natural.
What are your favourite foundations from 2016?
Have a lovely day guys, and take care!
