When I posted this look on Instagram last month, I mentioned that this is probably my favourite look in a long while. I had just finished my final night shift, and felt completely bleurgh! So to cheer myself up I got creative, because who needs sleep after being up 14 hours, right?
I wanted to create a tutorial on this look, and I hope that you enjoy this.
Since my skin around my eye area has been really dry lately I haven’t wanted to take any matte foundations around this area. So after priming my face with the ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer, I applied a few dots of the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer under my eyes and blended it out with a sponge, taking it over my eyelids too.
For foundation, I’ve actually been mixing two together. I use two pumps of the Dior Forever foundation mixed with two pumps of the Bare Minerals Bare Pro Liquid Foundation. Together these give a beautiful, hydrating airbrushed finish. This will also last a very long time on the skin before breaking up near the end of the day.
I set everything using Bourjois’ Universal Luminating Powder, concentrating on the concealer.
To give my face some shape, I attempted some full face contouring using the Smashbox Contour Stick under my jawline, under my cheekbones and chin, and around my nose. I blended this out quite softly leaving no harsh lines.
To bronze up my face I took a tiny amount of the Bare Minerals Warmth powder, concentrating on my cheekbones and down my neck. As for blush, I used an old favourite in the form of Model’s Own Rock n’ Rosy Matte Blush in Warm Almond. This is such a subtle colour, which was ideal for the eye look that I went for.
To finish off my face I applied a generous layer of the pink highlighter from the Makeup Revolution Soph x Highlighter Palette to the tops of my cheekbones with a fan brush.
I filled in my brows using my favourite combo at the moment: Benefit Brow Zings and Fleur de Force’s Brow Tamer.
I primed my lids using the matte highlighter stick crayon from Smashbox, and blended the product out with my finger. As for eyeshadow, I took the Makeup Revolution Soph x Ultra Eyeshadow Palette. I first set the primer using the shades Penguin and Pancakes. In my crease, I first buffed out a light layer of the shade Tiramisu, followed by the darker shades Rosewood and Mug Cake. On the lid, I generously applied the shade Petrol with a dampened eyeshadow brush, buffing out any harsh edges. Under my lashline I applied the shade Mixed Berries, darkening the outer edge with a touch of Petrol. In the inner corner, I used a tiny amount of the shade Pink Champagne.
To create a subtle halo effect, I first applied the Nyx Lid Lingerie in Morning Sky in the very centre of my lid, and topped this off with Bare Minerals’ Pressed Pigment in Gold Medal.
I lined my waterline with my trusty Bare Minerals Round the Clock Eyeliner in the shade 5pm before applying liquid liner to my upper lash line. To do this I used the Models Own i-Definer Liquid Liner.
To finish off my lashes I coated them with a few generous layers of the Dior Pump n’ Volume Mascara on my top lashes. On the lower ones I used my trusty PUR Triple Threat Mascara.
For lipstick I used an old favourite from Urban Decay. I used the Vice Cream Lipstick in the shade Crisis. This is such a beautiful warm reddy-brown. It’s stunning!
What has been your favourite makeup look at the moment?
Have a lovely day guys!
